Art in Maui

Maui Hawaii 300x225 Art in MauiGuest post written by my buddy Aldo Mays

My art gallery is the pride of my life and I sure have given up a lot to get here. From sacrificing a social life the last ten years to maxing out all my own personal credit cards to get the business of the ground, there’s no way I can imagine anything better than the business I’ve built for myself here in Maui.

A lot of people don’t realize Maui has one of the best art scenes in the entire country but when I first came here on vacation I knew I couldn’t imagine doing this in any other place. I had a big learning curve when I first got this place off the ground but I had a lot of help from the other gallery owners here in town.

They’re still giving me advice to this day (Frank told me about getting a bank-card-processing account) and that’s one thing I really love about doing business here – how helpful everyone is in the art community. I think I’ll live out my days here in Maui!

Spending time organizing my closet instead of money on shopping

Guest post written by Kara Horowitz

Every now and then I’ll have a week or so long slump where it seems like I can’t really find anything to wear that I like. Well, I’d like to keep myself from having those and will most of the time go shopping when that happens. Well, I decided that it would be better to actually spend a Saturday organizing my closet and seeing what I have instead of going out and buying even more stuff that I’ll lose and forgot that I have.

Well, I looked online to see exactly how I could organize it in a sensible and easy way. When I was online looking through that stuff, I came across some highspeed internet providers that sounded really great. So I decided to change over my home provider to one of the ones that I read about on there.

It was so nice to have a decluttered closet for once. I even found a pile of clothes on teh bottom of my closet that needed hemming or holes sewed up in them. Half of them I wasn’t even interested in wearing anymore. Talk about shopping your own closet!
