Are you a product creator or just want to be?
There are many people that are trying product creation to build their digital business.
It’s an admirable and worthy approach, but...
it can be intimidating, especially if you are on your own.
Which is where most of us find ourselves.
In this article, I will share with you 8 simple steps to take for successful product creation.
This is an update from my previous article 7 Steps for Product Creation Success.
In order to understand what pains or problems people in your niche are dealing with you need to do research.
Many marketers will tell you that doing a keyword search is all you need to do.
This is beyond wrong…
If you expect to build a product that your niche will purchase, you need to get inside their heads.
This means taking the time to do some digging.
It may sound like a lot of work, but don’t get me wrong…
you can learn get all the information you need without much trouble.
Here are a few places to get started: Forums, Facebook groups, other marketers’ websites, magazines and more.
Just do some legwork and look for the golden nuggets.
Once you have done your research it’s time to choose and domain name.
Now, there are many different domain extensions available, but for the best results you want to find a .com domain.
This may take a bit of searching, but it will be worth it in the long run.
Using a keyword phrase makes it a bit easier. Having a domain with your keyword in it helps when it comes to Google searches and ranking.
Do your homework and don’t be tempted to use an extension other than .com.
As I am sure you are aware, there are hundreds of companies that offer hosting services. Some are free, but many are paid services.
This is something you don’t want to skimp on…
The last thing you want is to have an issue with your website when you are in the middle of your product launch.
Downtime could be the difference between making a huge financial splash or bombing like the TV show “Caveman”.
What you never heard of this one…
Choose a hosting company that will be there when you need them most. One you can depend on to respond quickly.
I personally us D9 Hosting and have found them to be extremely helpful and very responsive. I have never had to wait for assistance.
Any issue I have had was resolved within minutes of me opening a ticket.
This is the kind of hosting company you want to work with.
There are other good hosting companies, but for my business I rely on them.
Graphics can make all the difference in how your product is perceived.
Unless you are a graphic designer, you want to leave this to someone who does this for a living.
I know you can find loads of people on Fiverr that do graphics. There are some good graphic artists that use Fiverr to market themselves.
Don’t be fooled by the $5 entry…
To get good professional quality graphics, you can expect to pay more.
You’ll need a header and footer for your website pages, eBook covers, video graphics and if you plan to work with affiliates, and you should, you will need graphics for this page too.
A good way to find a graphics person you can trust by talking with others. If you have a relationship with other marketers, ask them who they use.
Make sure to do your due diligence. Ask for examples of their work.
Once you have done your research, it’s a good idea to create an outline.
This is the step that will lay out what you want to convey in your product.
The information that you want to include…
By building an outline you are able to focus your efforts in the areas most important for your potential buyers.
A good way to approach this is too just write down the main points you are going to cover.
Then add the any sub points for each main point.
They don’t have to be in order, you can do that later when you are building out the details.
Just get your main thoughts down on paper. I do mean paper, not digital paper.
Using paper for this will help your mind to focus.
You can transfer it to a Word document once you have determined the flow.
It’s now time to fill in the details. Add content…
This can sound intimidating to many. Oh man, I have to write stuff down.
Just start writing what comes to mind for each point you have outlined.
You can review it later and make adjustments as needed.
Look, even the best writers in the world make multiple edits before they complete their project.
If writing bothers you because you type slowly or have poor spelling skills…
you can talk into a recording device and have someone transcribe it for you.
There are services like rev.com that will do this for a fee. They charge a dollar a minute.
You can get your product out sooner and once transcribed all you have to do is make some edits and you are ready to go.
Just be sure to pause often, collect your thoughts, record and pause as often as needed. This will keep your time down.
Choosing the right platform or platforms to sell your product is important. Depending on your niche, one service will be better than another.
As an example, if you are in the dog training niche or maybe gardening…
Clickbank might be the best platform for your product.
If you are in the make money online niche, you may choose JVZoo, Clickbank, Warrior+ or another platform.
Just make sure you are using one that fits your niche, and your audience. Trying to use a platform that doesn’t fit will greatly affect your success.
This is where the rubber meets the road. Getting your product to the market.
Timing is everything…
The last thing you want to do is plan your launch at the same time a top marketer in your niche is launching their next product.
There is a good reason for this. Earlier I mentioned that you should be considering working with affiliates.
Well, if they have a choice between promoting your product or the big marketer in your niche…. they are going to go with the marketer they are more familiar with.
If you plan to go it on your won without affiliates, trying to launch your product when there is a top marketer promoting their new product, yours will be lost in the noise.
There is nothing more important that following a proven method.
One that has been tested by others and proven to work.
This I can attest to. For several years, I tried to different things thinking this was the best way to proceed. Over and over I fell short, there was something missing, but I just didn’t know what it was.
That’s when I decided I needed help, I needed to find a method that worked. What was more, I needed someone that would be there to help me when I hit a snag.
What I found was everything I needed and more…
I found the Partnership to Success program. This program from John Thornhill has been used by marketers that were just like you and me. They went from scratching their heads to successful marketers making life changing profits.
This is the program I am using to create my own economy and…
I know it can do the same for you.
It’s your time to stop the madness and start building your own economy.
