Being An Online Entrepreneur Can Be a Lonely Place

Sometimes you may feel like you are on an island…

I know I do.

Being an online Entrepreneur is a lonely place at times.

Then there are those moments when out of the blue when you least expect it someone, an acquaintance or a friend that reaches out to see how you are doing.

It is in those moments when you realize you are not as alone as you may think.

That person takes the time to make sure that you are OK.

Offers a helping hand or some encouragement…

Recently, I was in a funk and was concerned about whether I was doing the right thing. It was at a time when I was considering walking away from it all.

I had set a goal for myself at the beginning of the previous year to roll out a product I had been working. It would be a defining moment and the beginning of creating my economy.

Well, what I had set as a goal fell to the wayside as the year progressed. The longer the year went, the further away it felt.

I had a couple of setbacks that caused internal pain and lead to me ultimately abandoning that lofty goal on the side of the digital road. When the year ended, I was disillusioned, disappointed and defeated.

Defeated

Maybe you can relate…

I don’t normally talk about people directly, but I want you to know that Steven Alvey, a person that I met last year and have only interacted with a few times is that person.

I had responded to a Facebook post of his and he responded to me privately.  He told me that I already have what I was referring to in the post. It is the coaching program we are both.

Now he could have ended there, but alas Steven asked me if I had launched my product yet.

The answer was NO.

This started a conversation that has led me to renewed vigor and purpose.

I won’t go into the details but suffice it to say, I gained new clarity on what I needed to do.

If you have been online for any length of time, you will see marketers tell you “IT’S NOT YOUR FAULT”.

Well, I’m here to tell you the truth…

IT IS YOUR FAULT

IT IS YOUR FAULT…

YES, that’s right – it’s your fault.

Live with it, if you don’t, you will never get to where you want to go.

So here I am telling you that I had that person reach out to me just a few days ago.  It was unexpected but greatly appreciated.

I promised myself that I would eliminate the negativity from my thoughts and move forward positively.

And… this is the first step.

Sharing this with you.

IT IS YOUR FAULT

You are probably wondering why I am saying this, right?

You see everything you need you already possess. The problem is you don’t believe it yourself.

I speak from experience…

When it comes to working in my current occupation, I challenge myself every day to learn more, to be the best I can be at what I do and have overcome many things that most would have never tried.

That’s not to say I am anything special… Believe it, I’m not.

I just had a passion, a commitment to myself that I would succeed.

I was committed to a change of direction in my life and I knew that somehow that it was going to happen.

And it did…

So, at the end of the previous year when I looked back at the goal I had set, but didn’t reach I started to ask myself why?

Didn’t I have the aptitude?

Was I too old?

Was this beyond my reach?

Was I following the wrong program?

I could go on, but you get the point.

Well, the more I questioned myself the easier it got to think negatively.

I’m a very positive person, but this was draining me big time.

It would have been easy to walk away defeated, but something inside kept me going.

Well, I’m here to tell you the conversation that I had with Steven couldn’t have come at a better moment.

I am grateful for the time that he spent with me.

So, it’s time to start to share with you how this has changed my thoughts and ultimately the way I will go forward.

First, I know for a fact that there is nothing in this world that I can’t do if I put my mind to it.

And I am sure you can too!

Look back at all the things you have accomplished in your life to date. It doesn’t matter if you are 15, 25, or 65. There are tons of things that you have been successful at if you just think about it.

You learned to walk and talk. Learned to tie your shoes. You graduated from school.  You got a job… The list goes on and on.

I’m laying out a game plan of steps, not huge goals, but small goals that I can accomplish each week that will give me that winning feeling that we all need.

Small successes lead to bigger successes and ultimately your goal.

Look, there are tons of books on goal setting and positive attitudes. They are great, but they aren’t going to do a lick of good if you aren’t able to see the light of day.

I’m going to be writing an article about how I am going to take what I considered a failure and turn it into a success story. When I look back this time, I will see struggles that I overcame and successes that propelled me forward.

If you want to find out what I am planning and how you can too.  If you want to see what I am going to be doing to make that change of direction, sign up to receive my latest updates.
